An England company has been working on bringing the air taxi in the market. They can start the air taxi service by 2022. The speed of this taxi will be 320 kph that is expected to be powered by a battery. Only four people will be able to travel at a time. Initially, this service will be started for short distances, this was said by the company recently.
The company has already hired 28 old aerospace in 2016 for the upcoming project. Additionally, technical experts from Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Martin Jetpack and General Electric have been also hired. Project maker Stephen Fitzpatrick said that his new venture would come into working very soon. The concept of the F-One racing car was used to prepare air taxis. Stephen was also one of the owners of a Formula-1 racing team in the past time.
According to Stephen, the initial model of the air taxi can fly at a speed between 150 to 320 kph. He hoped that the Air taxi will be able to travel up to 800 km after launching an upgraded model. This would mean that people would be able to travel to Paris from London and also return back. Stephen further informed that the company will work in accordance with the Aviation Authority on the Air Taxi Project for getting the necessary certificates for the flight by 2022. The company claims that in June 2018 Air Taxi was tested in Gloucestershire, for which the UK Civil Aviation Authority granted the permission.
